One of my favorite creatures growing up were gargoyles. I loved the Disney series so much I couldn’t get enough of it. This love for this show is what inspired my Vortex Series though. The Guardians are gargoyles from another realm that protect those of paranormal descent in the human realm. They have human like bodies with skin the color of copper, bluish hide, or bronze. Each gargoyle has a long tail they use for balance an as a weapon. They have razor sharp claws the retract on their hands and feet. They even have razor sharp teeth that almost make them look like vampires and have eyes almost like black wholes.
They are actually a beautiful race that many don’t understand within the human realm. Cassie Armel is one of the first humans to work alongside them without fear. She helps them protect those the Triad seek to destroy, which turns out to be her partner Max. One of the biggest rivalries though is the Guardians verse the werewolves. They just don’t get along probably because they both are a dominant species. This will make working with Garrick and Max interesting for Cassie.
If you haven’t had the chance to check out Gargoyle Sighted the first book in my Vortex Series I strongly suggest you do. Each month I release a new chapter to my subscribers and will offer it as a freebie in ebook format once completed to them. Sign-Up Today to see more about this wonderful species.
You ever hear about the first story of how a gargoyle was created on the side of our church buildings? Check this out here:
The priest Romanus struck a deal with villagers of Rouen, promising to take care of the dragon called La Gargouille if they agreed to be baptized Boden Gargoyle Sentineland to build a church. The villagers agreed, and the priest headed to the River Seine, where he subdued the dragon in its cave and led it back to the town to be burned at the stake. The dragon’s head and neck, however, were well-tempered from his fire-breathing habits, and so would not burn. The remnants were instead mounted on the town wall. –hence, the first true gargoyle! I didn’t know about gargoyles connection to dragons, but after reading that little story I now know why I love them just as much as dragons. 🙂
Wow it has been awhile since I updated my blog. Let alone kept you guys and gals up to date on my writing. I plan to start doing bi-weekly reports again titled: Progress Reports. It has been so long I don’t even know what you have been updated on recently. So, I will just give you the latest.
This weekend I’m releasing the final installment in my Tales of Ferrês series, if you haven’t pre-order your copy yet you can HERE. It has been a long time coming. I swear I was starting to wonder if I would ever finish this series. But, it isn’t done yet. In May I will release the bundle book featuring all the stories along with a bonus story. The bundle book will have rewrites of several of the stories and I have it geared towards the YA audience. Once I release the bundle book then I will finally be done with this road and ready to start another path. I do have Tales of Ferrês bundle book up for pre-order, you can grab your copy HERE.
Another fun update is my Gargoyle Sighted book. I’m releasing chapter 10 to my newsletter subscribers this month on the 27th. I have chapter 11 written already just waiting for Allison to edit it. I probably will work on the next two chapters throughout this month. I’ll keep you updated on that front. But if you want to read this book as I write it SIGN-UP HERE. You will also get a free short story.
These two projects are the main ones I have been working on these last few weeks. I plan to start working on my next collection of short stories here soon. Along with working on my first novel series. I am in the plotting phase so I will keep you updated on this as well.
If things go as planned I should be giving you another fun update on March 26th. So expect to here about my writing and process by then. Until next time…
Heya there! My name is Cassandra Armel, but you can call me Cassie. I am the main POV in K.M. Jenkins’ special project coming to you soon. My story unfolds differently than her others in the works. The first book in The Vortex Series is release chapter by chapter to her Dragon Ryder VIP Readers List. Yes, that means every month they get the next chapter of my story with the bonus of receiving a free copy in ebook format at time of release.
If you haven’t joined the Dragon Ryder VIP Readers List yet I suggest you do. It is the only way to get this story before everyone else. Don’t worry if you missed chapters K.M. Jenkins is making a special resource list that features each chapter. This way everyone can get caught up.
But, enough about formalities. I should talk about myself. You already know my name but did you know I am a police officer? Not a great one either. I just recently got my old partner Richie shot in the line of duty because of a dang vision I had on the job. Was trying to keep him alive but nearly didn’t.
Now I have the choice to sit on my hands at the desk for the next six months or take on a new partner. I can’t stand sitting around doing nothing of importance. So, here I am partnered with the pretty boy Maximus Vincent. The girls just love him and I think my Sergeant is harboring a certain enjoyment from sticking me with him. Either way, if I want to keep my job and not lose my head I need to make this work. I hate having men telling me what to do and bark at the hands of authority. But, with these visions coming on more than usual, things are about to get more interesting.
I hope you will join me along my journey with the other Dragon Ryder VIP Readers members as my story unfolds. If you aren’t a member yet you can subscribe by clicking the image below.
The Vortex Series is one of my many works in process. Throughout the world within this series you will find different sects. The sects are broken up by species and have their own world within the main world. The main world is the human realm, this realm is where they can all interact within. Each sect has rulers, warriors and a society all to themselves. The only way to enter one of these sects (worlds) is by the magical vortex separating the worlds.
The main sects focus on throughout my series are:
The Triad – Is a part of the witch realm. They are a hunter group created to hunt down supernatural beings and destroy them. The main philosophy of this group is that humans and witches/warlocks are the only creatures that can create a pure race. Anything outside these groups are considered abominations and should be destroyed.
Celestial Moon Coven – The mother coven. This coven of witches are the main sect and are all powerful. There are small covens throughout the world but they are build on this main one. In the Celestial Moon Coven there is one all powerful witch that leads the others, it is always a female. All warlocks get given up to the Triad when they come of age to learn magic.
Guardians of the Night – Is made up of the gargoyle race. They hide in the shadows and protect the innocent at night. This group of creatures are extremely secretive and don’t show themselves to humans for know reason. They have their own world where the gargoyles can escape too. The Guardians of the Night are a set of noble warriors sent to protect their kind and the world without from evil. They haven’t been seen in the human world for over 300 years since their king went missing.
The Cebar – The werewolf community makes up this sect. They live in the forest a vortex must open within a park or forest area to reach it. The Cebar is the werewolf elite warriors that get sent out to protect their kind when under attack. They don’t show themselves to the human realm and keep to themselves. The werewolf community is lead by an Alpha male and female, followed by a second in command. They work better as a pack than individually and many werewolves wander away from the sect to see the human world alone.
Each world is different. But, they all have the similarity that they feed off the human realm. Therefore, the human realm is considered neutral ground. The witches/warlocks live in the human realm so they protect their land with vigor.
I can’t believe it is May already. It has been a crazy month since the last time I updated you all on my WIPs. Last month I took part in Camp NaNaWriMo. I set myself the goal of 20k. I didn’t finish the full 20k; I did managed to get over 18k. Overall, I thought I did good from going to writing barely over 5k a month to 18k.
My goal is to continue the writing throughout each month. Right now my goal is to do a minimum of 10k each month. I would like to work up to 20k every month, which would make my goals for next year a reality.
Now to update you on my WIPs. The first one I worked on in June was Bonds of Betrayal. The next installment in my Tales of Ferrês series. I have about 1k done in this story and way behind schedule with completing it. Hoping to get it done this month to get back on schedule. Then once this story is done then I can move onto story #8, A Forbidden Friendship. I’m hoping to get this series done before fall so wish me luck.
The next WIP I started on is my Vortex Series. The first book is being written by chapter, then released to my Dragon Ryder VIP Readers List members. Right now I am halfway through chapter 3 with it scheduled to release to my members May 25th. If you haven’t gotten in on this project yet, then don’t worry. I keep a directory of all the chapters here on my website and link to it in my mail outs. That is the only place you will find the link I am afraid. So, if you want to join Cassie on her journey you will have to sign up like everyone else. The nice thing though is if you are still a member when the book gets completed and released in ebook and print you will get a free copy. So, I am not completely a big meanie bo-beanie.
This next announcement is about my projects for next year. Once I finish writing the Tales of Ferrês series, this is how things will go. I plan to release four books next year if it kills me. I don’t know if I will make the actual release dates I scheduled for, but I will do my best to meet them.
My releases for next year are: Path to Redemption (January Release), Cyber Fated (May Release), Horror Collection Book (Untitled – October Release) and Rise of the Varrin (December Release). I’ll keep you updated on these projects and hopefully I can keep things going. The next obstacle will be to pay for the editing for all these books.
Till next month I hope everyone is having an awesome spring. I am enjoying the times at the park with the kids and taking walks without freezing my butt off.
