Punkie Night – by Kyt Wright

They’d wander round with spectral light, dressed with intent to cause a fright and once did call it Punkie night,

CASSTIEL BOOK SPOTLIGHT: Sheri-Lynn Marean Blog Tour

51eDLV6IzZL._SY346_CASSTIEL ~ Born of Lighting

Dragonkind ~ 52 Realms: Book 2

As an ancient immortal, bonded dragon shifter, Casstiel should have joined his soul mate Maya, when she was murdered ten years ago by the Ilyium; a vicious and powerful group of druid witches set on destroying all supernatural beings.
But with her last breath, Maya, aware that Casstiel was also tethered to another, severed their bond, and left him behind in the land of the living.
For ten years Casstiel extracts his vengeance against the Ilyium, all the while blaming fate, along with another.
A female, and the one who kept him alive and unable to join Maya.
Casstiel lives in a haze of fury, neglecting his family, until he comes face to face with her.
Ashara.
He wants to hate her, and tries, but he quickly realizes she isn’t the enemy, but rather a victim as well.
Suddenly his protective instincts awakening, and he realizes what an ass he’s been.
However, he also finds himself fiercely attracted to her. Even worse, she opens his eyes and makes him question what it is he really wants.
Half human and half Fire-born, Ashara has never soared the skies or shifted into her dragon. Instead, she’s been held captive as a breeder for the Ilyium, heart breaking more each time they take a child from her.
Her only solace has been a connection to another that’s always kept her sane in a cold, harsh life.
When her daughter’s mate suddenly frees her from where her twisted son had been holding her captive, Ashara is happy. Until she’s confronted by a large, sexy male who scares the hell out of her.
Cass wants her to release him, and Ashara how no idea how.
But as her heart awakens to a love she never dreamed possible, she recognizes the bond, and while she struggles to find her place, unsure of her desires, she makes a shocking discovery. One that fills her with fear.
Now Ashara and Cass have decisions to make, though they may not be what anyone wants.

After reading this synopsis I was sold. I mean I’m already a big dragon lover and books featuring dragons are an easy sell on me. However, this synopsis is plain eye candy and makes me drool for more. So, CASSTIEL welcome to my TBR list and Sheri-Lynn looking forward to sinking my teeth into this awesome looking book. Great work.
If your still needing more inspiration to get you to snatch up this dragon book then keep reading. I have a special excerpt below to spark your interest and hope it gets you to push that pretty link to your favorite online store to purchase. Hang on to your hats ladies and gents! We are going into the world of awesome!

EXCERPT

Ashara stood frozen, eyes lowered like prey that’s been caught by a predator.
“Release me,” he repeated.
“Cass, leave her alone,” Zales said telepathically, sounding weary.
“She’s the one,” Cass said. “I need her to sever this bond between us.”
“Maybe, but you scare her, and it’s been a long night,” Zales said with his eyes closed.
With a frustrated snarl, Cass went and sat at the opposite end of the couch from him.
He was so bloody tired. For so long, he’d dreamed of finding the one holding him to life. He’d plotted his revenge, imagining what he would do once he finally found her. He would make her pay, make her hurt, just like he hurt. Then he’d break their connection and send her to hell. It had been all that kept him alive for the last ten years.
But now, he couldn’t do it. No matter what he wanted to believe, she wasn’t some evil sorceress and she looked like she could be blown over by a stiff breeze.
Ashara cautiously at back down on the love seat across from him.
Cass’s body filled with need, making him want to swear. He hated his reaction, along with the sudden desire to protect her. Then there was the pain in her eyes, and her fear when she looked at him. She’d been a victim and that made him angry as well. He didn’t want to like her, desire her, or care at all. He had nothing left to give.
His thoughts turned to his mate Maya. How he wished to join her. Yet as he closed his eyes, Ashara filled his mind. He imagined her naked and under him. Cass let out a low growl and adjusted his position.
As the others in the room slept. Cass looked at Ashara who was curled into a tight ball. Every now and then she’d give a little shiver, and even with her eyes closed, she looked bruised and worn-out. All of a sudden, something in Cass softened.
Zales’s voice filled his head. “Saber rescued her from Darry Caverns where her son, Commander Casin, kept her prisoner.”
Her own son did that to her?
When Zales was once again asleep, Cass rose, but as he started past Ashara, he paused. Then he grabbed the blanket off the couch and gently covered her.
Satisfied, he made his way over to the tunnel and walked through the waterfall until he stood outside.
He glanced up at the rock wall towering behind him, then down at the placid lake over five-hundred-feet below. Despite the sharp white spears rising from the water, it appeared so calm, and completely opposite of his churning emotions. Finally, he gazed at the first of Tartaria’s suns breaking over the horizon. How long since he sat and watched a sunrise?
Thoughts back on Ashara, an unreasonable anger surged once again.
He shoved off the ledge. Power tingled throughout him as he rushed headlong toward the water far below, and he could feel that detested tether strengthening. It pulled, tugged, drew him, and pissed him off more. His dragon struggled for freedom, but he held the shift back.
The lake grew close fast, and he clearly saw the jagged white crystal shards projecting from the pale-blue surface. Sharp, deadly prongs. The pain would be brutal. And he wanted it. Needed it.
But suddenly, a white-hot bolt of lightning pierced him. His magic exploded and Cass howled as he shifted instantly. It wasn’t the result he was looking for, but the pain involved worked.
He roared, and rose into the sky, soaking up the energy that pierced his scaled body, bolt after bolt. Thunder boomed, though there wasn’t a single cloud in sight.

SHERI-LYNN MAREAN

Sheri M-15 - Copy - Copy

I fell in love with reading at age twelve when I read The Black Stallion series by Walter Farley. All these years, I have never stopped reading. No matter where I go, or what I do, I always have a book. One day in 2008, after we moved to the beautiful Creston Valley in British Columbia, I read a book with an ending I didn’t like. I don’t know what book it was, it didn’t stick with me as I almost tossed it out the window.

But that pushed me to write my own book. My own characters, doing what I wanted them to do. Vampires and Were-wolves were big, and while I love them, I love dragons too. Oh, so much! At the time, I’d never heard of dragon shifters, and I don’t really think of the Dracones as shifters, but more as immortals who can change into dragons.

I opened up a word doc and began to type. But life with young kids gets busy and it wasn’t until 2014 that I seriously got into it. My characters really came to life in my head and soon more joined them.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW w/ Lyndsey Rose Harper

Welcome back to my Friday Author Spotlight. Today, I’m sitting down with debut author, Lyndsey Rose Harper. Tomorrow her first book in her Evos Saga, “Clandestine” will hit Kindle Unlimited. Yes, you heard right her first book is hitting October 6, 2018. But that’s not all, she is also hosting a big release party over on Facebook. Being the awesome author she is, Lyndsey has a line-up of authors helping host her event.

LYNDSEYHARPER_2018_EVENTBANNERI’m one of those lucky authors, so come join us tomorrow to celebrate this new release! But, first lets get to know Lyndsey by asking her a few questions before we rush over to Facebook. 🙂

THE INTERVIEW!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you decided to become a writer?
I have been writing ever since I can remember. As a child, my next-door neighbor was the recipient of my earliest works, a newsletter about rabbits. Every month, I would write and compile a new newsletter for her. When my mom realized what I was doing, she provided me with notebooks and pencils. From there, stories of fairies and cats were born. I eventually transitioned into very early forms of fan fiction (pre-Internet days) of my favorite shows, then “official” fan fiction (on the Internet — because the Internet makes everything official), then into original crime-related stories. Now, my works involve the supernatural and speculative themes.

I don’t honestly know if I ever “decided to become” a writer. It was an extension of who I was, and who I am now. It was natural for me. As a kid, if I didn’t write, I wasn’t quite sure how to entertain myself. I loved reading comprehension, and would complete workbooks for leisure. I think writing (and possibly the Thug Life) chose me, to be honest. There was a long period of time where I resisted the idea of doing it professionally, but my mother always knew I’d end up here. And I can still hear her telling me, “I told you so!”

How often do you write? Do you have a page/word count? Do you set goals for yourself? Tell us a bit about your writing and how you keep things going.
I prefer to think of myself as a Spastic Writer. I’m not one who has a fancy app to keep track of words (wut r werdz). I suck at those cute little Instagram challenges that make you do something every day. And when I do write, I don’t really set goals. My days are usually wacky, my writing sessions unpredictable, and Netflix will always be my Achilles heel. TL;DR: Don’t model your writing life off of me. Or any part of your life, really.

How long does it take you to write a novel?
It honestly varies. I’ve written “books” in as short as a month’s time, and then some have taken over three years. “Clandestine” took approximately six months to produce the first draft, with over 60% of it written on my iPhone.

What are your goals as an author? Where do you see yourself in five years?
I’m honestly not the kind of person who can easily view myself a year into the future, let alone five. For my writing, I’d like to regularly sell books to people who enjoy them, and broaden my catalog into the double digits. It might be cool to know that someone wrote a fan fiction about my work (just no Fifty Shades stuff, please). Maybe attend a convention and sit on a panel with one of those little name plaque thingies. And hopefully I’ll have an updated computer by then.

Does your family support you in your writing, or are you on your own?
My family is extremely supportive, and I can never be grateful enough. My husband is a real trooper, and my daughter gives me encouragement to keep writing through her own love of reading. This book is dedicated to my late mother, who knew I would become a writer well before I did, and she remains my inspiration for my work.

Have you ever had a particularly harsh critique? How did you handle it?
My writing journey has been far from spotless. I’ve had pieces I’ve written torn (literally) up in front of me. When you work as a writer, you have a choice to make–develop a thick skin, or fail to learn from opportunities that are out there. Critiques are important to me. I value people who take the time to professionally review my work, and offer me their insight. As a writer, if you aren’t open to being wrong, or to outside suggestion, you will never grow in your craft. Criticism isn’t easy, but absolutely necessary in a writer’s career.

Do you write in first or third person, past or present tense, and why?
I tend to write in the third person, past tense. I’ve been told my writing style is very masculine, as well as more “cinematic” in structure. I like to pop around to show people what’s happening, without giving too much away.

Do you ever base your characters on people you know?
Oh hell yeah. People I know, people I don’t … the random lady in the grocery store, my co-workers, my friend’s friend, and people on Instagram (and more) have all inspired me.

Do you write about real life experiences, or does everything come from your imagination?
I like to write stories that are set in the present day with relatable experiences, but weaving in ideas of the fantastic or the unknown to make you second guess what you think is an ordinary part of life.

What was the biggest obstacle you faced while writing your latest book?
I only touched on it a little in this first book, but the series as a whole challenges me to write concepts that are so deeply ingrained into our culture into a completely fresh light. How I’ve chosen to portray things may make some people upset (traditionalists), which I struggled with at first. In the end, though, the story must be told.

Another interview down, but their is still fun to be had! You see that large banner up-top of this post? Go click it to be taken to the Release Party FB page! But wait! Before you leave lets see a juicy sneak peek from Lyndsey’s “Clandestine”.

EXCERPT: “CLANDESTINE”

Cara skidded to a stop, training her Glock on him. “H.P.D.! Get on the ground!” She held firm as she panted hard, trying to catch her breath as the man turned to her. Physically, he fit the description she received from Oleander’s neighbor. Tall, built, muscular. He had a thick head of shaggy chocolate hair that rustled in the whipping wind. His angular jaw was covered in dark stubble that crept up his cheeks. Still, she was unprepared for his blue eyes; they focused on hers with extraordinary vehemence. Even with the distance, ferocity radiated off of every part of his body, a fiery aura surrounding him.

Gritting her molars together, she stepped closer, her gun pointed at him. “Hands behind your head. On the ground.” She waited as he slowly complied, his eyes still trained on her until he laid on this stomach on the roof. The cold air whipped over Cara’s face as she watched him, her gloved hands tight on her weapon. “Lace your fingers,” she ordered, watching as he did what was asked.

“Try anything, and I’ll shoot.” She moved over him quickly, slapping her cuffs on him, one wrist at a time. He remained statuesque, his breath deep and even as she pulled him up to stand.

His eyes.

Up close, his stare was even more unsettling. It nearly felt like a personal violation, as if his gaze could excavate her very mind. He had no definitive smell, and despite how his body felt unnaturally warm, she suppressed a shiver from coming into contact with it. Her stomach sank as she studied him, sickened by a strange, unshakable feeling:

They were the eyes of someone she once knew.

Someone she once loved.

#IWSG Writing with Life Interruptions!

Today is the first Wednesday of the month and that means I will be featuring my Insecure Writers Support Group blog post. If you haven’t heard of this group before, it is a support group for authors. It is a special place where writers can share their fears, doubts, and concerns, along with triumphs, as they journey down the path to publication. Check out the links at the bottom of this post if you have something to share, or need companionship from fellow authors to keep you writing.

This is my second post for my #IWSG monthly feature and a lot has changed since my last post. If you haven’t been following my weekly updates on my #WIP Monday posts, I’ll give a small update.

Last months post I was just getting my feet wet with writing again. Since then I have published two short stories and working on my third in my Tales of Ferrês series. I worked on Demonic Embrace my PNR serial series. And, I have been writing posts right and left for my blog.

I got more involved in the author community and joined several Facebook takeover events. I found several resources that built my newsletter from 1 follower to close to 200 in under half a month. The goal is to aim for 300 followers this month and once I hit 500, then I will look into weeding out those that aren’t active. The only reason I am doing this is because once I hit 1k subscribers I have to pay and if I will pay for my newsletter, then I would rather keep active followers on the mailing list.

My other big news is that with taking part and getting my name out there I had a few book sales. Not enough to do much with but each sale made me jump for joy. Then I receive my first review on Amazon and on a few other sites. Honestly, with reviews I don’t care if you hate my story or if you found issues, any feedback would be great and helps me learn.

THIS MONTH’S QUESTION

How do major life events affect your writing? Has writing ever helped you through something?

This question is optional and since I have already rambled on for a long period, I will keep my answer short and sweet. Major life events have been a big obstacle for me with having twins, having a design business, and writing. They have pulled me three ways and usually I have been getting things done.

However, I have a new addition to my plate of obstacles, I now am babysitting my youngest niece. She is a ball of energy and knows how to make a mess. She is a big help though with the boys and love having her around. So, even if babysitting means I have to stay up till two in the morning getting things done I will do it. Just means two hours of less sleep but who needs sleep, right? 🙂

AUTHOR INTERVIEW w/ Aurora Jean Alexander

Welcome to my Friday Author Spotlight. Today, I will be sitting down with good friend, Author Aurora Jean Alexander. She is an up and coming Paranormal Romance/Fantasy author that will soon release her first book. Please, help me welcome her and I hope you all enjoy.

THE INTERVIEW!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you decided to become a writer?
I’ve always been a writer. While other kids were drawing and playing with puzzles and dolls I was creating my little stories, dreaming about them and finally writing them down.

Where are you from? Does your area have a good writing community? Tell us a little bit about it.
Nashville does have a good writing community. It holds book fairs and writer’s conferences.

What do you enjoy doing aside from writing?
I love going for long walks, I have three wonderful cats and I’m a Martial Art expert.

What inspires you to write?
I’d like to say: almost anything. I think of stories when I’m going for a walk. I listen to conversations when sitting in a café, restaurant or bookstore. But mostly I’m inspired in the backyard of an amazing home in California with the blue pool and the peace and silence. At these moments my characters come to life and the story continues.

How often do you write? Do you have a page/word count? Do you set goals for yourself? Tell us a bit about your writing and how you keep things going.
I write as often as I can. Occasionally I’m using meeting breaks to write, or lunch breaks. Then there are other days I’m simply too tired and need some time off.

When did you first consider yourself an author?
When I realized I’m getting closer to being published. I worked with my editor on finishing that book and was looking for a cover designer. I already had my copyright lawyer and I understood: I’m getting there! I’m an author!

What is the best writing advice you’ve ever received? Who was it from?
As for your use of language: Remember that two great masters of language, William Shakespeare and James Joyce, wrote sentences which were almost childlike when their subjects were most profound. ‘To be or not to be?’ asks Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The longest word is three letters long. — Kurt Vonnegut

What is the worst writing advice you’ve ever received?
Write it down. It doesn’t have to be a good story, as long as it’s written. “What”? I was asking myself if it’s not sufficient we authors are ‘suffering’ from self-doubt. Yes, make it easier for us and tell us it doesn’t have to be a good book!?

What book or series do you enjoy reading over and over again?
James Clavell’s Shogun, which is one of the best books on Earth and Sidney Sheldon’s Master of the Game. For some reason this book fascinates me, even though he wrote better books than this one.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, and you could only have five books with you, what would they be?
Shogun by James Clavell, The Ninja by Eric van Lustbader, Cheaper by the Dozen and Bells on their toes by Frank B. Gilbreth jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth-Carey, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Phantom by Susan Kay. And I hope I wouldn’t have to stay on that island longer than 7 days, I’d run out of books!

Do you write in first or third person, past or present tense, and why?
I prefer writing in the first person. It makes it easier for me to get to know my main character. But I did decide to write at least one book in the third person since there were too many feelings, senses and thoughts rather than speech which made it easier to draw the main character.

What is your writing process? Do you have any weird quirks to share?
I’m writing the very first draft by hand. During typing it into the computer I have the chance to catch the one or other flaws already. Then I work through the book again before starting my personal editing. Then I send the book to the editor.

How do you come up with the titles for your books? Do you find it difficult? Do you have a process?
I had a few good ideas for the series. But since I’m working on book 7 now I’m slowly running out of titles. I need to brainstorm. Occasionally I ask friends to help me.

What are you working on now? Do you have any upcoming releases we should watch for?
I’m working on a Paranormal Romance series. And, if everything works out as planned I’d love to publish before Christmas.

Well folks, that’s it for this interview. Hope you all enjoyed learning about Aurora, she is defiantly an author to keep an eye out for. Once we find out the release of her first book I will make sure to have her back. Till then check out Aurora’s social media and sign-up for her mailing list to follow along with her on her writing journey. Till next time, happy writing! 🙂

How To Write A Synopsis the Quick and Easy Way

LAURENCE MACNAUGHTON

If you’ve ever tried to write a synopsis before, you know that it’s anything but quick and easy.  Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just sink into your beach chair, dig your toes in the sand and toss off your synopsis between sips from a coconut with an umbrella in it?  Obviously, that’s not going to happen.  But I’m about to show you the next best thing: a painless way to get your synopsis done in record time.

Ready?

First, grab a stack of index cards and a handful of different colored pens.  (Or grab one pen and a handful of different colored cards.  Whatever works for you.)

Pick a color for your main character.  Take a card and write down the main problem your character faces at the beginning of your novel.  What’s wrong in this character’s life that desperately needs to be fixed?  Write it out as…

CHARACTER SPOTLIGHT: Bane

Welcome to my Friday Author Spotlight, today I will be doing a character interview with Bane. He is a miner in Ancient Voices: Into the Depths, Allison D. Reid’s second book in the Wind Rider Chronicles. I am happy to have them both here today for your enjoyment. Hope you will look into adding Journey to Aviad, the first book in the series to your reading list. Best news about this book, it’s permafree.

Without further a do, lets get the party started…

~ BANE ~

Do you have a chosen profession? What is it?

In recent years, I purchased a claim in the mountains of Minhaven and learned to be a miner. I do not seek riches—just hard, honest work, and a quiet life in obscurity. What I did before…well, that knowledge I guard carefully, for my own sake as well as that of everyone who knows me. It is a life I will never return to.

Is there one person you would move heaven and earth to protect? Who is it and why?

There are three people, actually: Morganne, Elowyn, and Adelin. Since the day they walked into Minhaven alone, I have felt responsible for them. My reasons are my own. Perhaps in time I shall reveal them, but for now I must keep them to myself.

What is your greatest fear? How did/will you overcome it?

My greatest fear is that I will never do enough to make up for my past—that the stain of blood on my hands cannot be cleansed. I don’t know that I shall ever overcome this fear, but that will not stop me from spending the rest of my life trying to be the man I should have been all along.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned about life?

That the greatest joy can be found in the simplest things: a quiet night in the tavern, a child’s smile, the glory of the sun rising from the sea, and setting behind the mountains. I have also learned that the best way to redeem my past is not to run from it, which is futile, but to forge a new future while accepting who I am and whatever consequences may yet come. I shall not fear them.

What is the biggest regret you have? Can you explain?

I sincerely regret the path that I took as a youth. It seemed a wise choice at the time—one that would lead to prestige and riches beyond imagining. Yet in exchange it took two priceless things from me that I shall never recover; my family, and my honor.

Do you have a secret you’ve never told anyone? Would you tell us?

I indeed have many secrets, locked away in my mind. Despite my efforts to banish them to the abyss, they often emerge to torment me in the dark of night, haunting my thoughts and dreams. No, I will not share them, and for that you should be thankful. They are my burden to carry alone, and I will do so to the grave.

Tell us about your nemesis. Why are you to enemies? How did it happen?

The identity of my enemy has not yet been revealed to me. He is the one directing the attacks against my fellow miners in Minhaven. Perhaps it is Braeden—that is who I suspect—and he has already done plenty to earn my enmity with his burdensome tax demands. But there could be another; one who serves Braeden and willingly does his dark bidding. In time, I hope to discover the truth, and when I do, my enemy had best look carefully to the shadows, for my blade is swift and deadly.

Elowyn lifts a strange silvery object from a woodland stream. Is it a medallion? A coin? Looking about curiously, she also finds a helm, a bow, broken arrows…and blood drenched soil. Something terrible has happened in this usually peaceful wood. Her world—the whole world—is about to change forever…

Strangehouse Books seeks women writers for horror anthology ‘Not All Monsters’

cropped-new-tentacleNOT ALL MONSTERS: an anthology

This anthology will be edited by Sara Tantlinger and released by Strangehouse Books in the fall of 2020.

From the editor:

“There are monsters in every woman’s life. And while maybe not ALL monsters are so bad, I want you to tell me about the dark and twisted ones. Give me protagonists who take no shit. Show me women who save themselves. Does the hero slay the beast, or is she the monster? All types of monsters, protagonists, and antagonists are welcome here. I am looking for speculative fiction containing strong prose with character-driven stories that convey powerful messages. I am particularly drawn to the beautiful grotesque, gothic elements, the macabre, and poetic prose, but I welcome all well-crafted stories to be submitted.”

All writers who identify as women are welcome to submit.

#IWSG my Publishing Path

This is my first month being a part of the Insecure Writers Support Group.

My first time with IWSG.

I have been writing off and on for several years. This last year I went quiet with my writing, due to becoming a mom for the first time. I know this isn’t a real excuse for dropping off the face of the earth for over a year. However, I didn’t just face becoming a mom one but twice at the same time. Yes, I am the mother of twin boys, and I like to say the first year was a real roller coaster ride.

I faced several difficulties during just the first six months. I had severe postpartum depression they hospitalized me twice for, and not only had one big move but two. When June rolled around, I couldn’t believe my boys were one year olds. The nice thing, though, is that they no longer rely on me for everything. This means I get freedom to get back to what I love, writing.

August began my journey back onto the road to writing. I had a system issue with my mac, so I had to do a factory reset. The software I was using for writing in was Storyist to help keep my notes and content organized, sadly I lost the software in the reset. I still have the files, I don’t want to repurchase a software I already bought once. After this I changed over to Scrivener, so August was my catch up month.

I’ve been slaving away trying to get my files switched over I had in word doc format. If that wasn’t enough work, I also did a complete overall on my website, newsletter, and social media platforms. I even re-designed my short story, “A Father’s Protection” cover, and re-published it. Now I completed those blood sucking tasks, I’m hoping now I can get to outlining and writing.

WRITING GOALS FOR SEPTEMBER:

  • Put the final touches on “Tarzinëa: Rise of the Vardin” book 1 in the Legacy of the Silver Ryder series outline.
  • Convert completed outline for “The Celestial One” book 1 in the Demonic Love series into a serial outline.
  • Start writing “The Celestial One” episode one.
  • Re-work, re-write and continue with “Tarzinëa: Rise of the Vardin”.

THIS MONTH’S QUESTION

What publishing path are you considering/did you take, and why?

At this time I have only a short story published and working on my next ones. I decided to self-publish a long time ago. I want to have a say in how my books end up and I would like to get to know my readers. It isn’t about getting rich off my books or becoming famous. I want to do this for the love of writing, reading books and just connecting with people who love books as much as I do.

When I was growing up, especially in high school, books were my escape. I wasn’t an outgoing person anymore. I was closed off, shy, depressed and just had issues being in big crowds of people. The way I experience life and enjoyed my days was reading. Till this day I still don’t live it down, about what my algebra teacher told my mom during a parent teacher conference. “She is a bright student and has great potential,” he began. “I wish I could get her to put those dang books down.”

That is why I want to be a writer/author. I want to have a teacher look at one of my readers’ parent and say those exact words, or something close to it. Creating a world where they feel safe and can escape is my goal. I hope as this journey continues I never forget this goal and if I do, please hit me over the head with one of my books. Trust me, I will appreciate it. 🙂
